The Cochrane Colorectal Cancer Group, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, at Bispebjerg Hospital Gastrointestinal department, is looking for statisticians with experience in systematic reviews to join the group and provide their expertise voluntarily.

The role of a statistical editor would mean being part of the editorial board which entails:

• commenting on new proposals suggested by author groups (approximately 6-8 times per year)
• providing occasional statistical advice to the review author teams in the developmental process;  critiquing Cochrane protocols and reviews, and subsequently determining whether these copies are ready for publication in The Cochrane Library by checking whether data presented in reviews are consistent and meaningful
• representing the group at relevant meetings and conferences and advocating our aims and objectives to relevant bodies. There is no financial remuneration available for the work; however, the CCRG may be able to offer some assistance to attend Cochrane Colloquia and other Cochrane training events
• attending teleconferences to discuss any issues of controversy or adjudication that cannot be resolved by the editorial executive, if and when these arise
