In Memoriam: Liz Waters

We are so very sad to have to announce the passing of our beloved friend and inspiring colleague, Professor Elizabeth (Liz) Waters. Liz has been unwell for some time but was so passionate about her work that many were unaware of how ill she was.

Those of us who worked closely with her feel so fortunate to have been able to experience her warmth, generosity, incredible intellect, and passion for making a difference. She was an inspiring leader who has changed our lives and the lives of all who have worked with her.

While the ripples of sadness will extend across the world today, we are encouraged by the knowledge that it will be accompanied by memories of love, laughter and bubbles. We will ensure her legacy continues.

Our thoughts are with all who mourn her including her husband Paul and children Charlie and Lara.

At the bottom of the page is a link to an online memory book where you can record your condolences and memories of Liz for the community and her family. (Please note that any photos you would like to share should be sent directly to Nancy Owens (nowens@cochrane.org) for attachment to your written contribution). For Cochrane contributors attending the 2015 Colloquium in Vienna, there will also be a memory book available at the Cochrane Exchange, and tributes are planned.
