Funding & Support

In addition to the support from the Hospital de Sant Pau, the CCIb receives financial support to carry out its activities from a wide variety of sources, mainly public sources , participating in the diverse calls for competitive tendering and projects.  In accordance withe Cochrane's current policy, the CCIb does not accept commercial funding to finance the development of Cochrane systematic reviews or any other activity with which conflict of interests may occur.

Besides its participation in Cochrane and its core responsibility within the Iberoamerican Cochrane Network, the Iberoamerican Cochrane Centre is also included in other related research networks: 

  • CIBER de Epidemiología y Salud Pública (CIBERESP)
  • Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation Working Group (GRADE)
  • Guidelines International Network (G.I.N.)
  • Guiasalud

The CCIb collaborates on a regular basis with many public organisations and institutions:

  • Agencia de Calidad del SNS del Ministerio de Sanidad
  • Agència de Qualitat i Avaluació Sanitàries de Catalunya (AQuAS)
  • Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT)
  • Grupo Español de Investigación sobre el Cáncer de Mama (GEICAM)
  • European Respiratory Society (ERS)
  • European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI)
  • Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS)

Moreover, it collaborates with numerous scientific societies and different international academic institutions, such as McMaster University or Oxford University. 

Its activity has been acknowledged and accredited by the Generalitat de Catalunya as an accomplished and consolidated research group (SGR 2009).

Furthermore, the CCIb has collaboration agreements for knowledge translation with private organisations such as the Spanish Organisation of Consumers and Users (OCU) and the Fundación Maldita.es against disinformation. It is also noteworthy that in several occasions, different companies and private agencies have contracted some of our services (training, translations, reports, etc). These relationships have always been governed by mutual respect, independence and transparency.
